Learning SEO can be fun
Learning search engine optimization (SEO) has been a long and sometimes confusing road. Much of my SEO skills were learned by experimenting and the rest by reading forums and blogs. One of the weirdest things about SEO is all the crazy myths that surround what an SEO actually does.
Some say they build links, some say they manipulate the search rankings, others say it is almost like magic. The truth is that most SEO’s experts keep a lot of what they do a secret because they are afraid that if too many people know what and how it is done they will lose their edge.
If you want to become an SEO, start reading, and keep reading for months and then start practicing on your own sites. Once you have mastered that then you should consider doing SEO for others.
SEO is a lot of fun especially when you can start to see how a certain thing can effect your rankings. For instance, once you get into the top 10, you can start messing around with your title tags to spread out your keywords differently. Its fun to see how things can effect your rankings!
I’ve recently got into the world of SEO and just picked up techniques from Forums and other sites. I find forums good fun because you can talk to people and you don’t always have to talk about SEO and you can meet some good people.
I have yet to acquire a PR1 for my website. I might be doing SEO wrongly but I’m learning. I won’t stop until my website acquired a at least a PR1. SEO is my next big step. Hopefully I could learn what’s needed soon enough.
