Goal Setting

Published by Tom under Webmaster Advice

The beginning of a new year always brings forth the New Year’s resolutions. We make hardy gesture of grand feats that we will do in this year and often fail within days of the proclamation. Are you declaring to lose weight, get rich, pay off your house, or just be a better person? Having goals are important but you must have a plan to go with that goal. False goals equal failure so give up those once a year outburst and redesign the way you set goals.
The first step is to determine if the goal is possible. Then you need to see of it is probable. Is it possible to get rich in 2010? Yes, however, it not probable unless you have made some great investment and it is about to pay off. Otherwise, the goal is more of a dream. Dreams are good but goals need to be set in reality.
As a webmaster, goals are very important. Setting a goal for your business and a plan of action to see that goal come to completion. Creating a profitable blog is a goal but an undefined one. It better to determine what profitable means to you first then you know where you need to be. Profitable to one could mean $10 a week. To another blogger, $100 a week is profitable.
Clearly defined goals allows one to plan the steps necessary to reach that goal. This works in all aspects of your life from losing weight to building wealth, it is best to clearly define what your goal is and how to reach that goal.

Now instead of stating your resolutions for the new year, sit down and write out a clearly defined goal and the steps to reach it. Good luck and may you reach the top one baby step at a time.

Earn Cash on Short Task

Published by Tom under making money

Many people spend hours on the Internet and on their computer each day. If you are going to be Online to play, why not get paid to do simple things you do anyway. It is easy to earn money doing simple Work at Home  jobs.

In this post, I am reviewing a company called Short Task which provides those simple jobs that anybody can Work from Home  and earn a small amount of money for doing a little work from the computer.

In order to do the Short Task Review, I spent some time checking out their website and seeing what all the buzz was about. The site is quite interesting and offers a variety of jobs for someone to earn a few extra bucks a month. I checked out this site a while ago and the one drawback I found was that they had a payout minimum of $50. This has since changed to $10 which makes this site much more attractive for the person wanting to be paid quicker.

Basically, the site is set up in two sections. The first is called the solvers. These are the people who do the tasks or jobs and earn the money. The second is the seekers. These are the people who hire and pay for the tasks. It is listed on the main page that there are 41086 tasks, however, I could only find around 4000 listed ranging from $.03 to $2.00 per task. I am sure the tasks vary depending on how many people use the service.

Once the task is advertised, the solver accepts and completes the task. The seeker then must review and accept the task as complete. Once the job is done and accepted, money is placed in the solver’s account and builds up. The solver can request it be paid to their PayPal account once the $10 mark is reached.

Looking through the task, I found many that could completed in seconds and a solver can do as many tasks as they wish. The task range from posting jobs for companies on advertising websites to building links to bookmarking websites on Social sites like Digg. These are tasks that most of us do anyway so why not get paid to do it?

For the seeker, it is a cheap quick way to get task done without hiring employees and without the hassle of finding someone to do simple jobs that are a bit time consuming, but easy. It is a winner for either party.

This is a great site and can put a little extra cash in your pocket. Can it make you rich? No, however, it is not designed to replace your job. It is just another way to earn a little extra money while doing what many of us enjoy.

Web Design Vs. Web Development

Published by Tom under Webmaster Advice, Website Creation

Web Design covers a large range of topics. When websites first started, web design was primarily focused on the actual layout and design of the website. This included color schemes, codes, navigation, and the flow of the website. However, over time the Internet increased is size and many more websites started to appear. This has changed how we look at designing a site.

Basic web designing has been replaced with a more encompassing term called Website Development. Designing is now a minor part of the overall project. With literally thousands of templates and premade designs available to webmasters, many webmaster choice to focus more on the more complex phases of website development. These include setting up the site to draw your target audience. Not only that, you need to develop quality content to attract the search engines to find your site and to boost you to the top of the search engine results.

Competing in today’s dotcom world is much more complex and having the right knowledge will help you succeed. This includes first coming up with a competitive site and a niche that is not too over populated. Do not fear competition, however; do not jump into a overcrowded field where there is no room to succeed.

To develop a quality site, a webmaster needs to target keywords related to the niche they are entering. The keywords should flow naturally through the content of the site. Random keyword stuffing causes inferior content and no live viewer wants to read it. The next thing is to make sure you offer enough quality content to attract people and keep them coming back. Doing this is easy if you have a passion for the niche. It is much harder if you know little or nothing about the niche. Do your homework and research prior to starting any website. Many webmasters have entered a niche with visions of the great untapped riches and only found fool’s gold. A well prepared and knowledgeable webmaster will have much more success.

Once you have developed the website, created the design, added quality content with well placed keywords, and made sure you have the total package, you then need to prepare to launch the site. The right timing along with proper SEO efforts is the key to success at this step. Many webmasters choose to launch quickly and find themselves ill prepared to succeed. It is better to delay for two weeks then to release a website unworthy of your viewers and customers.

After you release the site, you want to promote the site through advertising, building back links, writing press releases, and let everyone you can know that your site is here to stay.

Web Design is much more than designing a pretty site, it is hard work and a long process. Anybody can design a site, however, in order to do proper web development, a webmaster should have knowledge, do tons of research, put in the sweat an tears, and be ready for everything. If you are not capable of all this, by all means, hire someone qualified to do the steps for you. Success is not easy with the best developed website, however, success is impossible without a well developed website.

SEO Marketing Knowledge

As webmasters, you should have noticed by now that things are always changing with search engine algorithms. What worked a few years ago or even a few months ago now does not work anymore. Knowledge is power when it comes to search engine optimization.

There are many methods when it comes to internet marketing. However, the most important is keeping up with the changes and keeping educated. Google, for example, changes things on a regular basis. Because of this, many webmasters fail to meet their target of high rankings. Bad SEO is almost worse than not doing anything at all.

First thing is, you need to know your target and set a goal. Next, you need to do tons of research in the field of promotion and marketing. This takes time and money to become an expert. It is worth the investment if you do it correctly.

Building back links is still the most important part of SEO and should be the cornerstone of your efforts. Optimizing your website content is next in line for the key to success. Placing quality content will ensure that readers will find your site and continue to return. Not only that, they will also want to link to you and that spells more back links. All this must be done with perfection by targeting just the right keywords to set you above the competition and place you high is the search results.

Does this sound easy? Are you up for the challenge? Well honestly, it is not that easy but with hard work it can be done. However, if your company or you do not have the time to invest in doing the job right, I would not attempt the job without a professional. It is easier to build up an unknown website than to fix a poorly marketed website.

If you are not up to the challenge, Direct Consulting Group.com may be an option for your needs. They have done the research needed to do proper marketing. They have been around for over nine years and worked with many top companies. Their team will analyze your website and make suggestions on how to get the most bang for your buck. They are a respected Canadian company that works hard so you do not have to.

Doing the work yourself is a great thing; however, if you are not equipped to do it correctly, it is better to hire someone who can.
