Sold My Directory
I recently sold off the directory I started. It was becoming very successful but was also attacked with a bunch of spam. I found myself not able to keep up with approving links and deleting spam ones. I found that the amount of time was more than I wanted to spend.
I did some good promotion on the directory and made a small profit. I have learned though to stick to what I do best and that is blogging. I love to blog, I make a little money at it and it is fun. I have seven blogs so that is enough to keep me busy when I am Online.
I am curious, how many of you enjoy owning a directory? Is it fun or just for money?
It’s fun when link submitters follow my guidelines and write well-composed descriptions, as well as when they submit to proper categories. Contrarily, it’s pure headache and time-consuming, when submitters do the opposite.
I decided to go into directory business out of passion, but I can’t deny the money factor. There’s a balance and I love what I’m doing!
Without people like you, we would have very few places to get links. I did not care much for trying to sort through the spam. I hate it on my blogs too but at least I can do that quicker.
I have a couple of list on here if you want me to add any of your directories to it, just drop me a comment on either thread. One is for paid and one is for free directories.

Thanks for your kind remarks. Yes, spam is annoying to receive, plus those who submit links to websites where they sell medicines online without showing FDA approval or any qualified professional associated with the site.

Well, I had a directory in past, or shall i say that i had few directories in the post, but the main problem i faced with all of them was that they were regularly attacked by spam which consumed a lot of time to remove from the site. Even link approving also consume a lot of time but still i feel that the are really worth owning for some time.
